Jumping Ahead on 27 Things

Okay, I know number 22 on the list is in week 9 but I've been wanting to get the audio for a couple of books from Overdrive for a while. Since I had the Overdrive software installed on my work computer any way I "checked out" two books by C. S. Lewis, "Mere Christianity" and "Screwtape Letters".

I did run into a glitch when I tried to download the audio. Overdrive said I had to update my MS Media player. Now, I've been conditioned by IT to not even try to download or update software on a Company PC, so I hesitated for a moment before "boldly" trying. It worked. MS Media player updated without a problem. Then I was able to download both books without a hitch. Since Overdrive said I could burn these titles to CD I did that, too. Success.

  1. Upgrading Windows Media Player security is the #1 problem patrons report. Each time there is a new version of the player, the security has to be upgraded again. Now you know what to tell them! Good job!
